Development & Planning Update

Hello everyone! We’ve been back in the 2010 saddle for a couple of weeks. The curators have met twice (at Katipo Coffee House in Bondi) … and the TEDxSydney 2010 Organising Committee is springing into action. Remo has reconnected with someone who helped him establish the REMO General Store 22 years ago … a tried and true partnership reforming for the benefit and glory of TEDxSydney. Welcome David Glover!

Less than 4 months to go now. Still plenty of time … but LOTS to do. Here’s what’s happening:

+ More speakers confirmed. Once we’ve consolidated, we’ll let you know. Please keep nominating HERE.
+ Met with Major Partner #1. That announcement coming soon. Waiting to hear from Major Partners #2 & #3.
+ Still thinking entertainment for TEDxSydney. Some TED musical moments HERE. Make your suggestions HERE.
+ Still seeking cash sponsors. Expressions of interest HERE.
+ Working on a way to involve the larger TED community. Have you got an Idea Worth Spreading? Stay tuned.
+ Finally, audience application process is launching at the end of February. 300 seats up for grabs. Key words: merit, moxie & diversity. (BTW & FYI … the other 300 seats will be allocated to speakers, sponsors, media, collaborator networks & invited attendees.) Anyway, we intend to be completely transparent about how we go about selecting our audience. Subscribe to our mailing list and/or follow us on Facebook or Twitter; and we’ll keep you posted!
