TEDxSydney 2010 happened at CarriageWorks on Saturday 22 May and featured a
selection of Australia's leading visionaries and storytellers showcasing
their Ideas Worth Spreading LIVE to a group of thinkers ... as well as
ONLINE to the world at large. Here are some of the videos. We are uploading
more talks as they become ready. Please keep checking back for more!
Today, TED Prize winner Karen Armstrong’s wish is realised as the Charter for Compassion officially launches.
The Charter is a document that has been created by thousands of people around the world. It has been developed to enable a new dialogue between the major religions and between religious and nonreligious people. See it written and spoken below, and if it speaks to you, please affirm it by adding your name via the Charter for Compassion site HERE or via the TED.com home page HERE.
Karen’s wish was that TED should create and propagate the Charter. That’s where we need your help. Email your friends, and do whatever you can on Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc. We would love to see thousands affirm the Charter. It’s truly an idea worth spreading.
TEDxSydney is supporting local film maker and social activist Danielle Lauren who has organised a small event that is being held at the Museum of Sydney this Sunday morning 15 November. Details HERE. It will bring together local religious, social and political leaders as they recognise and celebrate the Charter for Compassion. Let Danielle know via the Facebook page HERE if you’d be keen to attend. Any further enquiries can be directed to Danielle@TEDxSydney.com.
