This will also be the date for TEDxYouth@Sydney at the Sydney Opera House.
Applications to attend both events will be accepted by our website from Monday 15 February 2016.

After a successful launch in 2013, TEDxYouth@Sydney returned in 2015, this time as a simulcast event on the same day as TEDxSydney, on Thursday 21 May 2015.
Aimed at those between 16 and 26, TEDxYouth@Sydney featured a range of presenters from the main stage with a carefully curated selection of an additional eight speakers aimed at the youth audience.

TEDxSydney 2014 took place on Saturday 26 April 2014 within the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House before a live audience of 2,250. It was also streamed live to a worldwide audience ... viewing from home, the workplace or one of our many satellite events.

TEDxYouth@Sydney was partnered by the University of Sydney and presented by MCA Australia on the 17th of November 2013. The event was a huge success, with over 200 delegates, 15 performers and artists, and a long line-up of great ideas. The curatorial team of TEDxYouth@Sydney is extremely proud to have worked on this event for the past few months. “I hope the event inspired the audience to pursue their own dreams”, says curatorial coordinator Shirley Le.

As with any TED event, the programming blended talks and performances with interspersed “tasty video bits.”
From April to June 2012, TED held public auditions in 14 cities on six continents seeking to uncover new talents, voices and ideas the world needs to hear. The TED Worldwide Talent Search in partnership with TEDxSydney came to Carriageworks Eveleigh on 27 May 2012 (the day after TEDxSydney 2012). The live audition was hosted by TED Curator Chris Anderson,TED Content Director Kelly Stoetzel and TEDxSydney Licensee, Remo Giuffré ... along with other members of theTEDxSydney organising team.

TEDxSydney 2011 featured a selection of Australia's leading visionaries, storytellers & performers showcasing their Ideas Worth Spreading LIVE ... as well as online via YouTube to the world at large. Everyone involved in TEDxSydney 2011 (live theatre participants, simulcast watchers in the Carriageworks foyer, and remotely-located webstream viewers) were encouraged to discuss the ideas and themes that develop throughout the day.
There were 5 types of participation:
1. 800 VIEWED the day LIVE as members of the Bay 17 Audience
2. 1,500 ATTENDED the TEDxSydney simulcast Forum at the Carriageworks venue
3. 48,000 WATCHED TEDxSydney Live on YouTube from 8:30AM to 6:30PM

Sometimes magic happens as it did at TEDxSydney 2010.
