Target 100 is an initiative by Australian cattle and sheep farmers, along with the broader industry, to deliver sustainable cattle and sheep farming by 2020.
Target 100 is 100 research, development and extension programs underway across the material areas of sustainability for the industry, including: water, biodiversity, emissions, animal welfare, soil & groundcover, social and economic. These initiatives provide farmers with a constant stream of scientific research to change and adapt their practices with the changing environment to enable the industry to feed a growing population sustainably for generations to come.
Target 100 is also about showcasing what individual farmers are doing on their farms as well as opening up discussions between the people producing food and consumers via social media and events to discuss the issues of sustainability and beef and lamb production.
Grow it Local is about local food production, bringing people together and having a little fun! Co-founded by Andrew Valder & Darryl Nichols (Garage Sale Trail) and Jess Miller (Goody Two Shoes), with help from Republic of Everyone, Grow it Local launched in March 2012 as a pilot project in Waverley Council to celebrate and encourage backyard, balcony, community and windowsill food farming. In 2013, TEDxSydney will apply the Grow It Local model of "crowd farming" to TEDxSydney 2013 at the Sydney Opera House. Under the guidance of Jill Dupleix TEDxSydney audience members will be encouraged to grow the food that is to be eaten at the event.

Gavin Blake, owner and lead Graphic Facilitator of Fever Picture will be
scribing all of the main speakers' talks at TEDxSydney 2013 live, in real-time. Gavin and his team have scribed 15 TEDx Events since 2010, and most recently TED 2013, where Gavin (partnering with TEDActive) scribed all the main talks.
