WTA tennis champion Daria “Dasha” Gavrilova is one of Australian tennis’ most popular stars.
Electrifying fourth-round runs at The Australian Open in 2016 and 2017 thrust the Melbourne-based player into the spotlight, as did her title-winning at the Hopman Cup in 2016. Alongside Nick Kyrgios, the duo became the first Australian champions in 17 years.
Since winning the WTA’s Newcomer of the Year award in 2015, Gavrilova made her top 20 debut in 2017 after winning her first WTA title and boasts wins over Grand Slam champions Maria Sharapova, Petra Kvitova, Garbine Muguruza, Angelique Kerber and Svetlana Kuznetsova.
