Karen Palmer

 

Karen Palmer combines Neurogaming, Film, Wearable Technology and Parkour to create dynamic immersive video installations to inspire and empower the user.

Her practise involves creating a sense of mindfulness and “being in the moment”to simulate a physiological and spiritual journey through storytelling and technology.

Her recent project SYNCSELF 2 recreates the process of transcending fear, was showcased at the iconic V&A Museum. This interactive parkour experience is controlled by the user’s mental focus, monitored by EEG biosensors, technology developed by Brunel University London.

Karen will be an international speaker at Games for Change Festival NY, Summer 2016. She was a Keynote speaker at DiGRA 2015 The World’s leading Academic Digital Games Conference, Germany. SYNCSELF 2 was a key exhibit at the Sheffield International Documentary Festival 2015, where she was a Panel Speaker on Neuroscience in Gaming. Previous commissions include the Cultural Lead up to the 2012 London Olympics and nominations include an HBO Award at Filmteractive Festival in Poland 2013.
