Melanie Horkan

Melanie Horkan is a producer who works across documentary and interactive productions in Europe, Canada and Australia. She was Associate Producer with Polar Star Films, Barcelona on “Google and the World Brain”, a feature length documentary for the BBC4, ARTE France, ZDF, which had its world premiere at Sundance 2013 and screened at 60 festivals worldwide. Melanie also worked as Associate Producer on “The Defector,Escape from North Korea” (IDFA 2012, Hot Docs, Al Jazeera FF, SXSW, Sheffield Docs Fest 2013). In Sydney, Melanie has worked as a producer on innovative interactive projects for various digital agencies such as Spinifex Interactive and Leo Burnett. She is currently in development on a feature length documentary called Saving the Enemy with Fathom Film Group in Toronto. Melanie has recently returned from living in Barcelona and is excited to be working with the TEDx Sydney team.
