So, what’s the occasion?
While our flagship event for 2020 has been postponed to the 6th November, our original date of Friday 22 May was dear to our hearts. Rather than letting it go entirely, we decided to go for gold and host a one-off TEDxSydney Celebration, a virtual TEDx event like no other!
Thousands joined us on Facebook LIVE from 4 to 7pm for Friday drinks and some big ideas as we celebrated our vast catalogue with some of the best TEDxSydney talks, films and performances from the past 10 years. We also chatted live and via Zoom with some of our speakers. We finished with an afterparty and music courtesy of our resident DJs. It was a good show and a great event!
The live stream was hosted by Fenella Kernebone, our Head of Curation and directed by TEDxSydney veteran Stewart Burchmore from a purpose-built TEDxSydney studio at The HUB by Innovation Production Services. Live streaming was handled, with the usual panache, by Viostream … TEDxSydney streaming partner since 2010.
