In a special co-hosted event, TEDxSydney and TEDxMelbourne join forces to present an intimate event at Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel, Circular Quay: Transhumanism – the future of humanity?
Join Peter Xing, educator and practitioner in transhumanism and emerging technologies, as he explores ways to help society transcend the limitations of our human biology using science and technology.
Hosted by Jon Yeo, Head of Curation at TEDxMelbourne, this interactive conversation will ask how we can incorporate technology into our lives and bodies to enhance human potential and capability – then ask – is an enhanced person still human? What if it gives an unfair advantage in areas such as sports or the stock market? Imagine if we could download our mind and “live” indefinitely on the internet. The future is bright and complex. If we’re to thrive, we need to think clearly and act now. We can decide what is possible and what should be allowed. This is the future, right now.
Join us for this intimate event to learn more about Humanism – its relevance to business and humanity – and discussions on the implications of integrating it into our every day life.

Venue: Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay, 30 Pitt Street, Sydney
