The O initiative believes in the power of art to inspire change.
They unite communities by turning the humble drinking fountain into a positive engaging experience involving every level of the community, from local people and artists to the public and private sectors. The tangible outcome of the O initiative is the O fountain; a sculpture, water refilling station and piece of public art in one.
The O initiative will take the TEDxSydney 2019 audience behind the scenes of how these fountains are brought to life, with local artist Jeff McCann painting the fountain live throughout the day of the conference. This transformation from blank canvas to finished product will take place in the activations and experience area over the course of the day. The artist will produce a visual representation of the TEDxSydney 2019 theme, ‘Legacy’, inspiring individuals and communities alike to create waves of change and in turn, a legacy of their own.
