In a world beset by inordinate challenges that span cultural, social, political, economic, environmental and existential concerns, seeking the truth has never been more critical to our survival.
2020 marks TEDxSydney’s 11th year and, due to COVID-19, our first year with a primarily online audience. When we chose the theme of REAL, we could not have known just how apt it would be considering the global impact of the pandemic – an impact that has reshaped our reality. How do we know what is real and truthful amid the noise we live in every day? How can we separate reality from fiction? And what is genuine versus imagined?
Sharing our stories is one way to uncover the truth of our lives. That is why, we want to invite you on Friday 6 November to our ONLINE flagship event that promises to be a unique and interesting experience.
One remarkable day jam-packed with engaging talks, inventive performances, thought-provoking films and rich connections with our attendees, speakers and partners. Across the day you will hear big ideas across multiple themes, including questions of social justice, leadership, technological innovation, the environment, art, design and so much more. Our 2020 speakers will share their ideas and discoveries and ask some of the more pressing questions facing us today.
And there is more! This year we are introducing a new dimension for the event: Discovery Sessions
Creating real time interaction with other attendees and creative ways for engaging with ideas and speakers, Discovery Sessions will give you a chance to dig deeper into an idea, to learn something new or to simply get up and move your body. They will be run by individuals from the TEDxSydney community, including speakers (past and present), partners, team members and selected members of our broader community.
