Singer
Luke O’Shea
Laureate, Australian Singer-Songwriter Luke O’Shea, carries on the proud and ancient tradition of singing up country. Drawing inspiration from the humorous and the heartbreaking, O’Shea crafts and delivers his celebrated songs to connect with his audiences on a surprising - deeper - level.
Throughout his twenty-five years of making music, Luke has been awarded a number of prestigious awards including 17 Golden Guitars, 2 APRA/AMCOS Songs of the Year and was recently inducted into the Galaxy of Stars for significant contributions to the Australian Music Industry.
Strongly entwined with his music - is a 30 year teaching career - from Kindergarten through to Year 12, from high-rise schools in Tokyo to regional Aboriginal & Torres Straight Islander schools in Far North Queensland. This awareness of what is missing & greatly needed in our youths education - has led to a number of his songs being incorporated into National Tertiary & High School curriculum.
With a combined passion for art, surfing, laughter & family, Luke continues to tour, teach & explore new ways of clothing & presenting ancient truths into challenging, digestible & joy filled works - much like his current music project, Max Joy & The Honey Lovers.
