K.J. Hennessy

K.J. Hennessy is a writer from Worimi / Diamond Beach, in regional NSW, Australia. His debut novel, ‘The Org’, is out September 14th, 2023, a queer romance in a dystopian Australia, exploring the strangeness of modern life, love and politics.

His first (very short) story was at the age of 5, ‘The M Man’. He later found success in various writing prizes (including with the Sydney Morning Herald) but left the craft in favour of DJing and working in the music industry. He has since returned, writing non-fiction for TEDxSydney, Channel Void, The Doe (US), and several music publications, and was a speaker at the MidCoast Big Book Arvo 2021/22.

He was recently involved in campaigns getting independent candidates successfully elected at both local and state levels, and was a member of Unharm’s StoryLab program on drug law communications. K.J. Hennessy now lives in Eora / Sydney. Feel free to say hi via @kjhennessy.x /
