Want To Attend in 2016? Here’s Everything You Need To Know

TEDxSydney 2016 · 25 May 2016

TEDxSydney 2016 and TEDxYouth@Sydney both take place on Wednesday 25th May 2016 at the Sydney Opera House. If you’re interested in attending, there are a number of different options for you to consider.

1) Apply to attend TEDxSydney 2016 at our standard price of $350, or concession price of $175

Attend TEDxSydney 2016 as a member of the live Concert Hall audience. As with previous TEDxSydney events, the full day of programming will blend talks, performances and films with delicious food in all breaks prepared in collaboration with ARIA Catering. Attendance also entitles you to one of our popular conference totes, with goodies inside; and you’ll also get to join us at the after party in the Concert Hall foyers at the end of the day for relaxation and networking. A limited number of Concert Hall seats are set aside for full time students and senior concession-card holders. We’ll need you to bring along proof of concession when you pick up your pass on the day.

If you’d like to come to TEDxSydney, we ask you to apply to attend. We read every application, and actively curate the audience to ensure it reflects the full diversity of our community. A TEDxSydney audience is unlike any other – a mix of everyone from interns to executives, students to retirees, accountants to artists. We aim to represent everyone from all stages of their career. For TEDxSydney, we accept applications from anyone aged 16+.

Take some time to think about your application before you submit. What makes you an interesting member of our audience? How can you help us to spread ideas? How is innovation, creativity and new thinking reflected in what you do and what you’ve achieved? What will other members of the community want to learn from you? We don’t distribute places to the fastest to apply, so take your time. Applications will be open for two weeks, closing at 12 Noon on Thursday 24 March 2016. Check out our FAQ for more information about how this works.

Applications involve a two-stage process:

(1) Register to become a member of TEDxSydney – anyone can register, and registration is free.

(2) Submit an application using the online application form.

UPDATE 24 MARCH 2016: Applications to attend the main TEDxSydney event in the Concert Hall have now closed. We will be contacting applicants week beginning 11 April 2016 regarding the status of their application.

2) Attend TEDxYouth@Sydney 2016, either for the full day at $90, or half-day session at $50

If you are aged between 16 and 26, you can attend TEDxYouth@Sydney 2016 as a member of the live audience in the Joan Sutherland Theatre at the Sydney Opera House. Our event is a blend of live talks curated by the Youth team, and talks simulcast directly from the Concert Hall. Morning and afternoon tea is provided and there is an optional lunch available to purchase along with your ticket. To get a flavor of TEDxYouth@Sydney, check out our 2015 event talks.

3) Attend as a Donor of TEDxSydney for $900

As a donor you can attend the full day live Concert Hall event and join us at an exclusive donors’ breakfast before it all begins. You can also nominate one pre-approved guest to join you in the Concert Hall ($350 payable per guest). You also get invited to various VIP events that happen during the lead up to the big day; early entry to the first session; Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea; a ‘Reserved’ seating sign for use throughout the day; plus admission to the after party. Donors also receive acknowledgment on the TEDxSydney web site; a TED book pack from Simon & Schuster; and – of course – our famous attendee tote bag with gooidies inside. Finally, your support will enable us to extend complimentary attendance to someone who would not otherwise be able to afford to attend our TEDxYouth@Sydney event, as part of our scholarships programme.

Our Donor allocation for 2016 is now exhausted, contact donors@tedxsydney.com for information on becoming a Donor in 2017.
